Louis De Guzman X New Balance

Chicago-based visual artist Louis de Guzman, known for his unconventional reinterpretations of pop culture figures such as Bart Simpson and SpongeBob SquarePants, is venturing into the realm of footwear with an exciting collaboration featuring New Balance 574. The partnership would contribute to Foot Locker's Collabor-Aid, a global initiative dedicated to assisting families and children in need.

Describing the color scheme as his "personal palette," de Guzman's design for the New Balance 574 collaboration perfectly mirrors the vibrant hues prevalent in his artwork. The shoe showcases luxurious purple suede on the quarters and eye-stays, complemented by baby blue mudguards encircling a steel gray mesh toe-box. Additional touches of baby blue adorn the midfoot, while a hint of purple adorns the front of the toe-box.

Accentuating the design, New Balance's iconic N logos are rendered in sleek red leather, creating a striking contrast against the textured leather heel pieces. The top half of the shoe is completed with gray and black suede on the collar and heel, respectively. The overall aesthetic is perfected by molded plastic heel clips and eggshell white ABZORB foam midsoles.
